Just to make it clear, flashing the Global ROM on a Chinese Mi phone will make it identical to its Global version, but that's not the case with Redmi phones as their Global versions support more LTE bands than their Chinese versions and LTE band support depends on the hardwarenot the software.
Basically the linked above guide worked for me, with the following exceptions: - The only way to enter USB Diag mode was to root my device, use adb shell, su and execute "setprop sys. Reboot turns it off automatically. Also stupidly managed to lock the bootloader and to unlock it again. None of those actions seem to affect the changes made, and 4G reception is still there. Finally, the connection drops to 2G from time to time, which sucks, but resetting it with LTE Discovery app always brings it back.
Jehonan Is has been debated to death before. Xiaomi Devices are hardware limited to specific bands. That is why there is Global Versions of the devices. Must of the guides to enable extra bands, just give false positives and don't actually work.
Read some and you will see allot of people complaining that the methods don't work. Hmm, this is interesting! I wonder if we can activate LTE-A now using the band 3 and the band 7.
The phone does have carrier aggregation LTE-A but only on some random bands that almost no country use except Australia, If I can correctly recall.
But if it works to add new bands than it should work to enable LTE-A. Maybe you can try it and tell us? XDA Developers was founded by developers, for developers. Join Date: Joined: Apr Hi Mi Fans,Your Android device holds a large amount of information about its hardware and system that an average user might find difficult to access. But if you know Android's secret codes, you can factory reset your device, find out its hidden camera information, instantly back up your precious data and much more. These don't require you to be connected to a network to use them, since they're just for the Android system on your device.
These codes are updated regularly as new versions of Android software are released, and some manufacturers have their own additional special codes. The code entry procedure is very simple and only requires you to bring up your dialer keypad and enter the appropriate number sequence. It's important to note that some codes are carrier-specific, so they won't work on all devices.
So if your phone doesn't respond to a code, don't dwell on it, just move on and find another one. These codes should be used with caution. They can make your phone lose data, or render it unusable.
There's a lot of incomprehensible tech jargon which pops up in the menus after entering some of these codes, which means that if you aren't percent sure what you're doing, don't do it.
List of secret codes for AndroidThese codes are mostly universal, and should work on Android devices, no matter the manufacturer. There might still be carrier restrictions on certain codes though, so they're not all guaranteed to work. Risk of data loss and rendering phone useless Format deviceThere's a good chance you'll never need to use most of these codes, but if you do, then now you know where to find them.
Are there any secret codes that you find yourself using all the time? Or are there any we haven't listed here that are really interesting? Let us know in the comments!
